ASEAN Foresighting
Sunway IGSC team had the privilege to take part in the ASEAN Foresight Study jointly with the Academy of Sciences Malaysia on the future of ASEAN countries in terms of science, technology, innovation and economic (STIE) development (present to 2050). With active participation from various ASEAN country representatives, who contributed to this very important study for ASEAN.
The study examined the 10 global shifts that will impact the 10 STI ecosystems and 10 socioeconomic drivers of ASEAN. We explore the different scenarios for ASEAN countries in charting their future. In this study, we used a new foresighting & forecasting tool our research team developed based on the 8R-8i ROV STIE Framework.
This study will be launched on 24 October, 2025 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during the 2025 ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
