Online and Physical Workshop Series: Theory Development by Prof Venkatesh
The Sunway Institute for Global Strategy and Competitiveness (Sunway IGSC) hosted Prof. Venkatesh from Virginia Tech for a three-part workshop series aimed at strengthening research capability. The program included a physical Theory Development and two virtual sessions in November 2023, focusing on theory building, research motivation, and academic writing.
Over 300 participants from local and international universities—including UUM, USM, UKM, UiTM, UMS, MMU, and institutions across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the United States—took part.
Internally, the Sunway IGSC team had the privilege of attending a 2-day internal Writing Workshop with Eminent Scholar Prof. Venkatesh during his stay in Malaysia. This initiative was part of the institute's effort to enhance the skills of Sunway IGSC's analysts. During the workshop, the team had the opportunity to share their ideas with Prof. Venkatesh in personalised sessions where he evaluated their work and provided invaluable feedback, leaving the team highly motivated and driven to advance their research endeavours.​
The series reflects IGSC’s commitment to advancing research excellence through mentorship and capacity building.
