Building ASEAN Research Ties: Sunway IGSC’s Collaboration with RMIT Vietnam
On 22 November 2024, Professors Pervaiz and Santha from the Sunway Institute for Global Strategy and Competitiveness (IGSC), conducted a full-day training session at RMIT Saigon South. The session featured a blend of interactive discussions on advanced research methodologies, hands-on exercises, case study presentations, and Q&A sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of research application in real-world contexts.
Beyond the training, the Sunway IGSC team visited nearby campuses in Vietnam to engage with academic and research institutions, fostering dialogue and exploring potential collaboration opportunities. The visit provided immense value to Sunway IGSC by promoting its expertise, strengthening its regional network, and establishing meaningful academic and institutional linkages.
As a direct outcome of this engagement, Sunway University—through Sunway IGSC, formalized its collaboration with RMIT Vietnam. On 16 May 2025, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµsigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RMIT University, Vietnam, in conjunction with the launch of the RMIT Centre for Business and Emerging Technologies (CBET). Facilitated by Sunway IGSC, this partnership aims to strengthen ties through joint research projects, academic exchanges, co-hosted events, curriculum development, and capacity-building initiatives.
The collaboration is set to advance research and teaching in key areas such as business innovation, sustainable development, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship—positioning both institutions as leading contributors to regional knowledge exchange and impact across ASEAN.
