Beijing, June 19–23, 2024 — The Beijing International Book Fair once again gathered publishers, authors, and literary enthusiasts from around the world. Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµPress was a key participant in the Malaysian delegation, organised by the National Book Council of Malaysia and the Ministry of Education. This year’s fair highlighted the growing influence of Malaysian literature on the global stage, with Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµtitles prominently featured in both the Malaysian Pavilion and the Universities Library Acquisition Section.

A significant highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the Malaysian Pavilion, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China. The Deputy Minister of Education, YB Wong Kah Woh, officiated the National Book Council’s selection of the 50 Best Malaysian Titles for Copyright, a prestigious list showcasing the finest in Malaysian literature. Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµPress’s The Pathbreakers and Other Stories was honoured as one of these top titles. This anthology, featuring winning entries from the Blue-White Dot Short Story Writing Competition, underscores themes of climate change, biodiversity, and social justice, reflecting Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµPress’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Further enhancing its global footprint, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµPress was included in the National Book Council’s China Special Project which showcased the top 200 titles for Chinese library acquisition at the Beijing fair. This recognition underscores the quality and impact of Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµPress’s publications and is expected to open new avenues for academic and cultural exchange.
