About SOMChE2026:
The Malaysian Symposium of Chemical Engineering (SOMChE) is an annual event that serves as a platform for academia and industry to share insights and present research in a professional setting that fosters meaningful exchange across the chemical engineering community. The 35th edition of SOMChE will take place in 2026 and will be co-organised by the School of Engineering, 㽶ƵMalaysia, and IChemE Malaysia under the theme “Intelligent and Integrated Chemical Engineering for Global Challenges.”
SOMChE 2026 will be a vibrant forum for academics, industry practitioners, policymakers, and students to exchange ideas, share best practices, and showcase innovative solutions spanning the full spectrum of chemical and biochemical engineering. From AI-driven process design and optimisation to circular economy strategies, green materials, low-carbon technologies, and digital twins for plants and cities, the conference will highlight how “intelligence” and “integration” can shape the future of engineering practice.
Through keynote lectures, parallel technical sessions, poster presentations and industry forums, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Present cutting-edge research and industrial case studies
- Explore collaborations across disciplines and sectors
- Discuss how regulation, policy, and education can keep pace with rapid technological change
- Inspire the next generation of engineers to design solutions for a more sustainable and resilient world
We warmly invite you to join SOMChE 2026 and be part of shaping the future of chemical engineering in addressing global challenges.
